River Stone can give selected landscape areas a clean, defined finish without making the yard feel overly formal. We look at the space, what is already there and how you want the area to look before putting together an estimate for the installation.
River stone along a bed and drivewayRiver Stone is a decorative stone material used in selected landscape areas where a homeowner wants a clean, durable looking surface instead of exposed soil or organic mulch.
Neither material is better everywhere. It comes down to the look you want and the part of the property you are updating.

We look at each area with you and talk through whether stone suits it.
Before stone is installed, the condition of the existing area should be reviewed. Preparation depends on the existing area and the agreed project scope.
River Stone may be part of some drainage landscapes, but simply adding stone does not correct an underlying water problem. If drainage is the concern, the site should be evaluated for that specific issue.
Available River Stone options can be discussed during the estimate.
Call or send the form with photos of the bed.
We look at what is there now, the plants and the edges.
You know what is included and the estimate before anything is scheduled.
The area is prepared as the agreed scope requires.
Stone goes in around the plants you are keeping.
The work area is finished as agreed before we leave.
Stone goes in around the shrubs, trees and planting areas you want to keep, with space left at the base of each plant and along the house.
We agree on what cleanup is included as part of the scope, so you know what to expect when the stone is in.
If you prefer a softer organic bed finish, see our Mulching service and compare which material better fits the part of the property you want to update.

Most of our stone work is at homes around town: beds along driveways, shrub areas in the front yard, and selected spots where the lawn edge meets the landscape. Each estimate is built around the beds on that property.
